Have you ever noticed that of an evening
you tend to hold your phone or tablet closer to your nose compared to first
thing in the morning?
This is one of the classic postures that a
fatiguing visual system will adopt in an attempt to address an insufficiency in
accommodation or focusing.
This posture is a result of the consensual
link between the eyes convergence (eyes turn in) system and the focus
system. If your eyes are having problems
with holding focus, your convergence will subconsciously attempt to address
this problem by forcing you to hold things closer. This problem can often be associated with
other signs of eye fatigue such as red eyes and frontal headaches. It is easily
addressed with a pair of reading glasses.
To organise your new reading glasses simply book an appointment by contacting your local Eyecare Eyewear Practice, either Dalby on 07 4669 7072, Chinchilla on 07 4668 9888 or Warwick on 07 4661 4144.
